The Crucibleby Arthur Miller
"Arthur Miller's classic play, based on the Salem Witch Trials, explores the reaction of a Puritan town to accusations of witchcraft. Abigail Williams, the leader of the girls making the accusations, has committed adultery with John Proctor, and her false claims threaten John's wife, Elizabeth, and eventually John himself, forcing him to struggle with his conscience."
